Problem with 1998 Ram 2500 V-10 4x4 lighting system. Im hoping for some direction The parking light 15 amp fuse, when replaced works for approx. 5-15 minutes then blows. I loose the the parking lights, the instrument panel lighting as well as the fog lamps. Headlights, turn signals, brake and interior lights all function normally as well as warning light on instrument panel. Since I lost the fog lamps I changed the fog lamp relay in the engine bay electronics box with no change. I eliminated each of the separate light systems individually and still have the issue. I've been through a bunch of fuses. A few years ago I had a headlight switch fail and replaced it. I later found the wire harness plug was the real problem with one of the terminals arced an over heated and the plug block deteriorated. The photos are of the harness plug front and back. I don't recall the particular wire that failed but I'm including this for background and may not be related to the current problem. If someone has a direction to lead me or possible cause please let me know Overheated headlight switch harness plug side wire harness side of headlight switch plug
The melted pin is the headlight output which is a different circuit and on a different fuse from the parking lights. So I don't think the current problem is related. The fog light relay is on the parking light circuit but the fog lights are getting power from another fuse so you can exclude the actual lights as well.
As a first step I'd go through all the parking lights and look for bad/corroded connections, and have a close look at the bulbs too. It sounds like something is heating up and causing a current increase.
