Yeah, this is the original AM/FM cassette player that my truck came with new. It's been in the garage for the last 20 years wrapped in a large zip lock baggie so it's hardly been used. Shortly after I bought my truck in 2002 I ordered the factory AM/FM cassette/CD player because my brother had this in his 1998 Ram 1500.

Sometime around 2002 or so, the wiring was changed. It had been the same for 20 years. The 1500 was redesigned in 2002 and the radio changed, I think. I know a wiring adapter and mounting kit put a nice radio in my 2002. The 2001 may not be plug and play.
