Default Next intake mod done...

completed the updates to the intake manifold. opened up the injector bores, cut .25" off the runners (not much I know) and cleaned up the throttle body bores.

Someone here suggested the Felpro plenum gasket, bought one and put it on. time will tell as far as how well it does.

I have about 10 miles on it and it seems to scoot pretty good on the freeway, wasnt paying attention to my speed and when I looked down, it was at 80+... DOH! Taking it to the sharks game tomorrow so by saturday it should be done with it's re-learn period and I can give some good feedback on it if anyone is interested.

Steve, I just have to ask this. What do you do for a living? Are you mechanic or just a die hard dodge fan? Where did you learn so much about dodge trucks? Is this just a hobby or do you do this for a living? Just curious. -Tyler

i'm a test engineer... I write test s/w to verify electronic assemblies. I used to develop hardware for the same purpose but havent done it in a few years, just s/w. I also work part time in real estate doing sales and loans. that income help support my habit [sm=badbadbad.gif]

my enthusiasm doesnt stop at the dodge, the BMW M3 I have is also modded. and is fun to work on...

Steve help me and maybe others understand this re-learn process that I have seen you mention a few times. The computer does what? For ANY mods?

when you reset the PCM (battery disconnect) on a 96 or newer truck/car the computer will optimize it's performance, it'll run richer/leaner and figure out thru the sensors what is the best way to run the motor by adjusting the fuel trim and (I think) timing.

it does this on the fly as well, take your truck out and stomp on it a few times from a dead stop... after a few times, you'll see it's slightly peppier then when you started.
