I just bought a 2001 ram 1500 4x4 off road larmie and there is a little red light on the bottom of the roof console, anyone know what it is for? when I bought it they didnt give me a remote for an alarm or keyless entry.

 

i have an 01 15004x4 mine is an slt larmie and mine doesnt have it just went and checked do u have an owners manual

 

no wish I did though

 

its a small red led on the bottom under the trip computer

 

just looked im my owners manual and it is a security alarm if u have no remotes for it u will have to get one from the stealership

it looked to me that u have to have the remotes to arm the alarm so if u want to use it u need a remote they are about 38.00 plus them to program it should cost no more then 50.00 i had to buy an extra 1 and cost me 38.00 and 10.00 to program

 

I can get one from any dealer?

 

pretty much..just take your vin into them and they can get you figured out
