Default Injector recommendations?

I'd like to get new injectors for my 2001 3.9l and I'm looking for advice. Do these motors prefer a particular brand like with the o2 sensors and plugs? How about the four hole injectors, do they work any better? Also, how big a deal is it to swap them out?

Why do you want new injectors? In theory the 4 hole ones should atomize the fuel better but i still have not seen any "proof" that they are any better than the single hole style. If anything make sure they are flow matched.

Yeah, I would question why you want to replace them as well. If they are high mileage, yeah, I could kinda/sorta understand that, or, if they are giving you problems.. sure. But, if they aren't causing any issues, I would just leave 'em alone.

The stock injectors are one-hole, pencil-beam injectors. They are supposedly timed to fire just as the intake valve starts to open, so the fuel hits the back of the toasty warm valve, and vaporizes. Good theory, no idea how well it actually works. I don't think you would notice any difference at all between one hole, and multi-hole injectors though.

If you really wanna replace 'em, go with stock injectors, that are flow-matched, as Moparite suggests. That way, you don't need to worry about flow-rates, and differences in ratings between manufacturers.....

These injectors are closing in on 200,000 miles and I'm just wondering if it might be time freshen things up a bit.

In that case, yeah... it sure wouldn't hurt.
