I'm doing an engine rebuild 5.9/360 97 ram 1500 that I changed to manual 5-speed if I'm using and air gap intake which is for a carburetor then can I just eliminate computer? I don't need to run the transmission and I don't need it to run the motor since I would be eliminating the fuel injection

Yes you can but you'll have to add a fuel pump and change the distributor

Don't forget to plug the holes for the injectors.

And, factory instrument gauges won't work without the PCM. Would also need to alter the alternator hookup, as the voltage regulator is in the PCM.

Depending on whether he has an Air-Gap or FI Air-Gap.

Just curious, why go back to carburetored. It's more of a hassle.
