Default 46RE o/d and trans temp

I recently purchased a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 V8 a while after purchasing and probably only my 5th time driving it, when it would get warm the transmission would just stop working, I replaced the transducer, new gasket on the pan and obviously filled with new fluid. Truck ran great transmission was perfect, then today I drove it for probably 10 minutes and the o/d off light came on and a few minutes later the trams temp light came on. I checked fluid level and it was full but hot. I already reset PCM so I have no idea when to go from here. Truck only has 83000 miles and has been treated like a baby it’s whole life, wondering if any one had any insight to help? Thanks

What shape was the connector on the pressure sensor? Should be a four pin rectangular..... If it was round, it's the wrong one.

Something else to check, is the check valve in the trans line going to the bottom fitting of the radiator. If it is in the standard position, it'll be right on the end of the hardline, where it transitions to the rubber line. They like to clog, and you get the symptoms you describe....

Welcome to DF!

Yeah it was square. I’ll check that line tomorrow, then just flush that out?

Here is the procedure to bypass the check valve in the transmission line - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...46rh-46re.html
