Default Need help

I have a 99 ram 1500 5.2. It will start only if I hold the the throttle to the floor the idle is super choppy and I hadn’t had these issues until it overheated 2 days ago. Replace the water pump and hoses. I’ve cleaned the throttle body. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated as it is a sentimental truck.

Unscrew pre cat 02 sensor see it if starts, could be clogged cat. Did you look in throttle body and see any oil? When you say overheated are you saying you drive it redline or it went to redline and you shut it right off? That’s crucial info

Check the temp sensor the PCM uses, it is right next to where the upper radiator hose hits the engine. I bet it is broke, or not plugged in.

Yep, that'd be the feller. That is why your engine is flooding out. I am thinkin' replacement would be in order here.
