My 2004 Z71 will forget it’s back there, and pull it fine, but it’s got 250,000 miles on it and I question its reliability in the long run. It’s got the tow/haul feature that allows towing in overdrive.
3500rpm won't hurt it. My guess is that even though your load is only 2000lbs it has plenty of wind resistance especially if you have a flip up gate/ramp on that trailer. My 98 durango had 3.92s and most of its life it pulled loads at 3500rpm on the highway for hours on end. Was still strong at 190k miles.

Yep. Won't hurt the engine, but, it sure beats the crap out of your wallet when you can't pass a gas station......

Hmm I just played a little with spreadsheets and 3500 rpm in 3rd gear with 3.92 and stock tire size comes out to ~80 mph. Is that how fast you were going ?

I was keeping up with traffic on the interstate, so it’s entirely possible. Was thinking about 75 though.

That's on my bucket list of places to go wheeling. Hopefully next year.

Yeah, 80mph, that is the speed limit in SD on the interstate and everyone here in ND does 80mph even though its 75mph cause tickets are cheap.

Recently bought a new Kawasaki Teryx 800 SLE. I’ve owned ATVs for many years, but this is my first side by side. Have friends who go to Hatfield-McCoy regularly, but it will be a first for me.

Sounds about right if the torque converter does not go into lockup, the spreadsheet assumes engine and transmission input rotating at the same speed.

As long as you'll towing without overdrive, you will be fine. No issue with 3,500 RPM on your motor, however, gas stations will be your friend.

I have several atv's now but thinking of selling some and going the utv route. I am a Polaris guy but the Kawasakis and Can Ams seem really nice as well. I was talking to a couple riding buddies and it sounds like Hatfield-McCoy is a goal for next year. Going to need a whole week, that's like an 18hr drive.

I won't buy nothing but Can Am newbie that I was a Polaris guy. Nothing beats Can Am in my opinion
