Default 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Low Pressure Service port

I am replacing the o-rings and Schrader valves in my AC system. I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this on the low pressure port. There does not seem to be a removal Schrader valve. You can remove the fitting it sits in, but I do not see how to remove the stem from it or replacements for the fitting The only thing that's left to do is replace the line. It's the low pressure line (without orifice) coming off the condenser back to the evaporator.

Do you have a Schrader valve removal tool? If so, you can insert the tool into the valve to unscrew/remove it and thread in a new valve. You can find plenty of examples on YouTube to view.

Thanks. I have the tool to remove the cores and I have replaced the high side core but I do not see a way to replace the low side.

Curious - do you have a photo of the low side valve that you can share here?

This is a photo of the low side port on my truck. As you can see, it's not a schrader style port, however, I don't believe all is lost, as you can see in the next photo.

I believe this is a standard R134a low side port used on many different vehicles. Notice the provisions to allow the whole port to be unscrewed from the line in this photo. I'd try holding the bottom area with a wrench and unscrewing the top port off with the appropriate sized socket. These R134a low ports were available in R12 to R134a conversion kits and are available individually at most well stocked auto parts stores. Please give that a try in removing your port and let us all know how it goes.

Yes, that's it. I cannot see where the tool I have can extract it and I do have it removed. I have been searching for a replacement but not having any luck. There must be something out there other than replacing the entire line if those are available.

Looks like the only thing that is serviceable is the o-ring

Can you please post a side view photo of the port you removed? They make them in male and female threaded versions and I'm unsure what you have. Also, what state/part of the country do you live in?

The port on the left is what came out of the truck. The port on the right is the AC-Delco / GM I Went on ahead and ordered from Amazon. North central North Carolina.
