Default Lift kit advice

I got a 99 ram 1500 4x4
And I had been looking at rough country's 3in lift and now I'm being told they aren't that great
Also looking at getting new rear leaf springs and coils springs mind you I do haul an 8000 lb camper that I live in occasionally and need help decided who to go by

8000 lbs is well beyond the rated tow capacity for your truck......

Actually the old trailer life towing guide lists the truck at 7800 lbs (8000 for 2wheel drive) with the shorter axle ratios. But with the trailer being heavier and likely longer than the truck I would not lift it. And Rough Country is, well rough. Or at least that was their reputation 10-15 years ago. Maybe their newer kits are better.

Yeah I'm thinking 3 inches wouldn't be too bad just want it to look meaner
Might just end up doing an axle swap to Dana 60s since I aim to eventually do that and I've been told that alone will give it a slight lift plus I'll have beeffier axles

Changing axles will give you around an inch or so. And yes, they will be SIGNIFICANTLY heavier duty. Lot to be said for full-floating rear axle. Of course, that won't *legally* change your tow rating.
