Default 1997 Dodge Ram 46re valve body rebuild

So I’m going to re build my valve body on my 1997 5.9 dodger ram 1500 46r trans.

i was going to buy the son ax sup kit.
is there anything else or a list what else I can do while I’m in there.

for instance from servo.
can I do front band without dripping trans and so on.

Reason for trying this is the only gear I’m having problems with is a high rpm shift at partial a light throttle 2-3

evey other gear works great and really light and heavy it also shifts fine 2-3.
yes new filter and fluid a couple times.
governor selenoid and sensor.
outout speed sensor.
IAC
TPS
PLENUM GASKET
O2 sensora
new Cat
TV CABLE
Band adjustment
and even new return spring

I would throw a whole new trans in but a little out of my league and don’t have another vehicle to drive when shop does it

Some folks make 'slip-in' bands, that you can replace with the trans still in the truck... not sure if they are any better/worse than a new band, that you change during the course of a rebuild..... Never tried 'em myself.

Everything I know about automatics is written on the inside of my left eyelid. I can do basic troubleshooting/diagnosis, but, have never rebuilt one. Several folks here on the boards have though, and they had zero experience when they started. There are a LOT of good resources on youtube. Couple companies have whole series on rebuilding the 46RE. Find one that deals specifically with the valve body, watch it a couple times, see what ya think.
