Question What size leveling kit is on my truck?

I bought a 98 Dodge Ram 1500 four-wheel drive extended cab long bed. It has a leveling kit on it and I'm curious as to what size leveling kit so I can order front end parts. Also what can I do to bring the back up some now as it sits lower than the front. Don't know if it's due to warn Springs or if the front was just over leveled. Also what shocks can I order, stock? It needs front end parts and shocks badly.

Leveling kit on these trucks is usually nothing more than a nylon/steel block between the spring and the frame. And all I've seen are 2". But you can measure the block height you have.

You can do about 3" without having to worry about the shocks. As for the rear, yeah, the springs settle over time.

When I made leveling blocks for my truck, I figured that I'll get longer shocks as well. Bilsteins, can't recall the specs but I think they were listed for 2"-3" lifted trucks, perfect. First time offroading, I think I had sway bar installed, but on a second time I had removed it. Well, first good flexy spot and front spring fell off from it's place. Those shocks had way more travel than expected, so I had to make a limiting straps to keep the suspension over extending.

You really don't wanna use your shocks as bump stops, or travel limiters.... that dramatically shortens their life.

Nor make the shock bounce against the piston rod. It was a right side that got loose, didn't hear it in time, ended up damaging the rod.
