Why not just use the stock pieces????

For the track bar, look for a third gen style upgrade. It has bushings at both ends, and last MUCH longer than the ball joint style.

Can you just use a third gen track bar straight off of a 3rd gen truck, or does it have to be a specially made part that’s 3rd gen style?

You must have a conversion bracket installed on the truck's frame where the ball joint end of the original style track bar bolted on.

I use the Solid Steel adjustable track bar, which is a 3rd gen style track bar. Here's a link to it - http://www.solidsteel.biz/trackbars.htm
