RE: high idle on 5.2L 1500
had a friend scan it today, and it came up P1294. did some searching on the net, and it looks like it's either a vacuum leak, or an injector. i dont hear any vacuum leaks, and ive sprayed every vacuum hose i can find with carb cleaner. there was never a change in idle.
BTW, the truck idles at about 1,400 rpms, and is running lean. only thing ive done to the truck is added a 14"x2" open air cleaner.
how can i find out if it's an injector issue?

IMO, high idle is a problem of too much unregulated air getting into the engine. so I think you have something loose that shouldn't be. I'd check all your intake bolts. Hit them with a torque wrench to make sure they are good, same with the throttle body bolts. I had a loose intake on my jeep and one quarter turn of an intake bolt fixed my high idle......it was that simple...

RE: high idle on 5.2L 1500
well, today i re-torqued the intake, and put in a set 19# injectors. still idles high, but not as high. i did notice that the hose that comes off the driver side valve cover, pulls a lot of vacuum at idle. like i said earlier, i have a open element 14" air cleaner on the truck. i have that hose hooked up on the bottom side of the air cleaner. i did block it off with my thumb, and the idle dropped down a little bit.
ill drive it around some more to see if the CEL comes back on. (i disconnected the neg. cable, to reset the light.)

Got me scratchin' on this??? Don't see any references to "billet aluminum plate from ASP along with new hardware and a revised gasket" in this thread. Where axactly are they? What is ASP?
Thanks for the help.
