I just bought an 02 dodge ram 1500 quad cab SLT 4.7. threw a rod into the oil pan in less than 2 weeks. I'm looking at a 1500 V8 magnum Laramie SLT quad cab 98. What parts can I take off of the 2002. For the Laramie. Pretty disappointed in the 02 figured the tick was a lifter or the exhaust manifold. Someone ran it out of oil. Always check the oil when buying. Pretty dumb. I kind of expected work on it but not expecting that to happen. What do you guys suggest?

 

The 02 is a third gen truck, the 98 is second gen. Very little will interchange, far too many differences.

 

Might be easier to do a hemi swap since both use the 545RFE transmission.
