Default The 3 Grounds From Battery

There are 3 black cables that goes from the battery negative - post. One of each goes to the body, frame and engine block. People misconstrue the Black PDC cable that goes to the alternator as a ground. If you look carefully it's a black and grey lined cable so not a ground.

Why they ran a BLACK power cable is a mystery to me.....

When folks are possibly on a budget or time constraint, strange things can happen.

For safety's sake, might want to take a few moments to mark/label the positive cable as positive, especially at the battery, so that no one connects jumper cables incorrectly.

No one should hook jumper cables up to the alternator wire. And if they did it would blow the fuse when they try to start it. Most of that wire is covered so you really don't see it so someone didn't think it should be red. Got to love engineers.

You're right. I accidentally looked at the negative battery connection and thought it was the positive battery connection with the black wire...
