Water pump pipe seal
That pipe and seal can become quite firm over the years. When I replaced my water pump several years ago, the pipe was difficult to remove from the old water pump. Thankfully, the new water pump came with a new pipe and O-ring seal. In addition, the old pipe was rather rusty, too.
Yup I got all new gear with mine aswell. I added a dab of permatex around it aswell that didnt seem to do much.
Yeah the o-ring is never gonna hold it tight, that's what the bracket is for.
Last time I needed just the o-ring I also wound up buying the entire Dorman part, which annoyed me because that makes for one expensive o-ring, but in that case time was more important than money.
The timing gasket kits come with a new o-ring for this, so if you're doing timing cover gasket and wp at once you can hopefully wind up with a spare.
As I said my dad damaged one by pushing the pipe in too far. Presumably it got knicked pulling it back out because the backside of the hole can't be chamfered.

Ya I got the kit but I'm pretty sure the new o ring came with the new water pump. Hopefully my o ring isn't destroyed lol..

I didn't get a choice in replacing it.
