Default Back with PVC question

I have a 99 with the 5.2 motor. I have changed the PVC part twice now. Didn't seem click that much but now it's clicking like crazy. I was wondering if this is normal or maybe something off? The last one I bought was from NAPA. Intake has been upgraded with the aluminum plate and gasket as well as the intake gaskets. Motor is running really good. I'm just curious is common? I really don't know where to find a OE part. Thanks

It's best to try to find a Mopar PCV valve for your motor. They are metered for your motor, unlike the aftermarket variety. Check the parts manual for your year truck for the PCV part number here - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html

They should be readily available thru the dealer or eBay (and numerous other online sources) by searching for the part number..

I will look there. I also found out the breather /pvc on the driver side will cause the pvc to click like that when it's clogged. From reading up on it. It sounds like to replace that one calls removing the valve cover. It seems that one wont come out like a normal pvc does on the passenger side. The rubber grommet is really hard.

Both sides are pretty much the same, just a thingy (technical term) stuffed into a grommet. PCV valve is straight, so, "should" pull out easy. Give it a twist if its stuck. The elbow has a barb on it, but, not much of one. It will pull out, it just won't be happy about it, and if the grommet is dried out, and solid as a rock, well, that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

If the grommet is hard, it should also be replaced. They should be readily available, just like the PCV valve.

Daughter using the truck tomorrow but I will definitely get the parts and try to see if I can get it out. I get ti work on her car tomorrow. Power steering is leaking so I need to find out what needs to be fixed or replaced. 2006 Ford Fusion so this will be fun since most things are hard to get to on these cars. lol.

I did change the air breather/ PVC but it was a real pain in the butt. It broke but left enough to get it out. I really didn't see that it was clogged up since nothing was in the to stop working or block. Looked to me to be nothing more than a clear pipe style. I was expecting something more like a PVC with something inside to allow or restrict air flow. I really don't hear the pvc clicking at this point so something changed. I did notice the vacuum that goes into the fire wall has improve so I plugged it in and still no front vents. Just plugged it for now till I can get into the dash and find whats going on there. Just wanted to update.
