Default Cluster Problems

Alright so my 98 1500 with a 360 automatic stopped reading the mph, I'm assuming thats just the sensor in the rear end? The same time that that happened, my mileage stopped counting, its stuck right at 176351 for the last three weeks. My other issue is that my check gauges light comes on, oil pressure plummets to zero, then back up, and the light goes away. I'm assuming that would just be an oil pressure sensor or does that seem more like a problem with the gauge itself? TIA - Jake

Sounds like the rear wheel speed sensor is bad, as that will affect both the speedo, and the odo.... and the oil pressure sensor is goin' south as well. Fun to change.... You can see it, or, you can touch it, but, ya can't do both at the same time.

Well I got both done last night, speedo and odo work fine now without a brake light on. Oil pressure is showing but it seems like whenever I turn left, right, or brake a little too hard coming to a stop it seems to plummet to zero with a "Check Gauges" light coming on, then it'll go away and pressure will go right back up. So its doing the same thing even with a new sensor. Any ideas?

Side note, while doing the oil sensor, I found a ground strap just chilling behind the intake, not connected to anything, so I'll work on that this weekend. TIA

I suspect it was low, I did an oil/filter change, and it hasn't come back on. I think the plenum is drinking more than I realized. I feel stupid for that one haha, thank you!
