Default Throttle position sensor

I have a 98 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 new Crate long block 360, new hd jegs transmission and it was acting like the TPS was going bad. Surging and jerking. I replaced it today and now it's surging worse and I've lost overdrive. I use it for work everyday and with the money I've put into it I can't afford to put it back in the shop. Advice would be much appreciated.

Verify you are getting 5 volts TO the sensor. (that should be there with the key on, whether the engine is running or not.)
