Default Transmission

Hello, new guy here but have been reading forum for a while. My question is does anyone know if there are any upgrades for a NV3500 transmission that might beef it up? Obvious choice is NV4500 swap but simply not in budget right now, later down the road if bottom end of motor holds up then I'll swap. I have a 5.2, modded kegger, Bosch 4 hole injectors, shorty headers and 3 inch single exhaust with one cat, didn't have a choice had to pass inspection, 1.7 roller rockers, stock cam, for now, no tune, 35" tires with 4.11 gears. Pulls a 20' bass boat fully loaded maybe close to 3000 pounds. I hope this wasn't too long, . Thank y'all in advance.

So far as I know, there aren't really any mods for the NV3500 to make it stronger... Replacing it with the NV4500 is the best plan. Finding one is the fun part.

Thanks for response, I kinda figured but thought what the heck lol. Seems like I can find them re man all day for at least $2500 with warranty, no luck with salvage yards yet. My transmission is still behaving but I'm going to be entering more tournaments this season so will be towing at least every other weekend and wasn't sure if I'd be pressing luck, trans is original truck has over 200k miles.

Never hurts to ask.

Try Car-part.com. Search for trucks with manual trans in the year range that will work for you, then call any yards that might have one directly. The email contact doesn't seem to be real effective.
