Has his own machine shop? Yeah, rebuilding is beginning to sound better.

I'm thinking so to if I can swing it, it's his own shop, I'd send block crank and heads etc. And see if he could long block it after machining to simplify my end. Just the fun part is once he gets it, wait, wait then wait longer lol.

No he just will do the engine machining only, with my experience dealing w machine shops if I can get it out and to him I'll have plenty of time to heal more lol. Bad part is I just moved 4 hours away from a friend with his own custom engine shop but he's way behind building dirt track motors anyway.

Tool monkey?

I've done that before.... At a previous residence, the neighbor girl (9 in the beginning) was actually INTERESTED in working with me. (single mom...) She wasn't strong, but, she was smart, and learned quick. Just having her there to hand me tools make workin' a WHOLE lot easier. By the time I moved, she was 14, and was fixing her mom's car... (with my supervision.) That's been a few years back though.... Not sure if kids today are even remotely interested in that kind of thing.

If they are they watch videos on u tube, Actually doing it is another story. Any vocational schools around you? You can get them to remove it and it's a learning experience for the students. Also might look into the the on line ad places for help, I see stuff like it on craigs list but there are others.
