Headlight switch knob removal

Default Headlight switch **** removal

I have a 98 with the pull type headlight switch. Does anyone know how to remove the ****?

Is there a notch anywhere at the base? It's not visible in the pic if so. On Fords of old you'd hook a right angle pick into the notch and it would just release a little plate binding on the shaft, just like height adjustment for pipe stands. But I may be barking up the wrong tree for Dodge.....

Right below the tan plastic piece that is riveted in place, it a button, that should have a spring under it. Press that down to release the ****.
