1997 5.9 1500 4x4 46 re


So I re built the valve body. All sonnax stuff.
everything Thing the sell.

I pressure checked to the best of my knowledge and adjusted Band form 2 back to manual 2-7/8. Of course after 72 inch tourque.
new tv cable and adjusted that from 2mm Both aft and foward of center and to no avail

the truck runs awesome in every gear but still struggles form 2-3 late shifts at about 3 grand but randomly very random with shift good.

oh new return spring also.
any help?

I would by a new trans in a minutes and install if I new that would fix it!

Mine does that too. Trans may hold 1-2 shift much longer than I would think is right, other times, it would shift perfectly..... I was thinking maybe TPS...... I have some cheap aftermarket feller on that..... I replaced the original due to TCC bouncing in/out.

 

What was the out come? What pressures did you have?

I have brand new TPS I put 2 of them in.
I will do some work on it this weekend and post pressures.

I still find it really strange if I gas pretty good or WOT. It turns awesome.

I can also feather and drive slower and it’s shifts reasonable, but if I drive normal form a light or rush hour it done want to shift until 3 grand.

Yep. Sounds familiar. I have been fightin' that one for a while as well. I had some other symptoms too, but, swapping out the governor stuff solved those.... (dropping into neutral at a stop.....) For me, its just the 1-2 shift that is REALLY inconsistent.....
