Is the circuit "board" just wrapped around the aluminum feller??

Yes, it's a 'handshake' of board n support/heatsink frame. Make sure to spread the circuit board when removing from the frame. Don't worry about the circuit board, it's very flexible, Not to mention, you gotta get around the center frame with the bigger parts when you pull them apart.

That's interesting. They appear to be repairable, if the damage isn't too bad..... if it's a multi-layer circuit board though, well, that kinda nixes that idea.

"....Alien blood." Love that phrase, pocketed.

That ECM/PCM looks nothing like the 1 that I replaced in my '01 5.9L several years ago. Removed the cover and it looked like a quart of polyurethane sealed everything inside. I was like...good grief. That's a first. Got a great price for a so-called new one from Miami in exchange for old one. No more stressing over transmission problems.
