I had that issue with my factory mirror when I purchased my truck used. Apparently, the mirror was pushed externally by something and broke the plastic anchoring inside of the mirror that supported the metal post of the mirror. I ended up replacing the mirrors with power towing mirrors, since the truck had the necessary wiring for the power mirrors already in-place. I did have to pickup the driver's side power mirror controller from another truck from a pick & pay salvage yard. The stock mirrors I had were manual mirrors. Replacement mirrors (stock or towing) are readily available on eBay, RockAuto, 1A Auto, etc... You can also look for used mirrors on sites such as Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and car-part.com. If you decided to replace them with towing mirrors, make sure that the mirrors include the metal support plate to handle the extra weight of the towing mirrors..

All Laramies had power mirrors, I really don't have to put much $ into a rusty old truck nearing 300,000. I really like these 2ng gen but @ least here in the snow belt, the're RUSTY. I should have said all Laramie SLT have power mirrors, sorry. maybe a camper style mirror isn't power. The subject truck is the upper one on the road. Sorry I was wrong!!!
