Default Oil Dipstick Tube

Ok, I’m going to be replacing my rear main seal on my 1999 Ram 1500 5.2. While I’ve got the pan off I need to know the best way to remove the dipstick tube. I believe mine is linked right by the engine block. I believe it was moved too far back when somebody did some work on the engine. It is real hard to remove and insert the dipstick.
sorry for all the questions, I just can’t afford to take this to a mechanic.
Thanks!!

There should be a hole near the oil pan rail. You will see the dipstick coming down through it. Remove the dipstick tube from the top of the engine and use a properly sized bolt (likely around 1/4" in diameter or so) that's a few inches long to drive the tube out of the engine from the bottom. From there, you can install/drive in a new dipstick tube from the top of the engine.
