The dash from https://www.dashcover.com offer a lifetime warranty and is made from abs plastic. They offer both the cover and a complete dash. I haven't been on their site for a while because i keep getting security warnings.

This is the one I ordered. https://dashskin.com/2002-2005-ram-dash-cover-kit# I went with the 2 piece if I ever have to get into the dash. Summer sale $135.96. Found a $10 coupon code. Also lifetime warranty. Fee shipping. And they do hold up. I have a 1985 Volvo and covered it 20 years ago. No cracks. Since mine is an 03, I post my install in the 3rd Gen group. They don't have 2 piece for 98-01.

There are two little one way valves for vacuum on the side of the engine. If those go bad, and they do, it can make you think the leak is in the dash.
