Default 1500 Suspension swap

i’m looking to upgrade my 2001 1/2 ton to either 3/4 or 1 Ton and want to know if one is easier than the other? obviously i’d prefer to do the 1 Ton swap but if that’s a ton more work than doing the former than i’m fine with just doing a 3/4 Ton swap. also if i do this will a 2500/3500 steering upgrade kit work for me from a company like say CJC?

In 2nd Gens technically all the 3500s were DRW

The biggest problem going to 2500 is leaf width. 2500 = 3" while 1500 = 2.5". You'll need to do a little cutting and welding whatever you decide to do there

Check out the heavy duty springs for a 1500. It's a 5/6 spring pack. Or get new springs with the weight you want to carry, me, I wouldn't go over the stock tow weight. I'd get rid of the 1500 and buy a 2500/3500. As for the steering upgrade, I went with a 3rd gen Mopar steering linkage. Bolts right in.

Not to hard of a swap, if u use d60 diff's. Front is all bolt in swap. Rear will involve changing the spring hangers, like 16 rivets to remove. If you know the tricks to that your golden, it's a not bad job either. No cutting or welding is involved for this swap. It's a great upgrade for a few reasons.
