Speed sensor is gear driven tone generator. Adjusting your speedo is as simple as changing the driven gear.

I thought that was true of the Dana 70 in the rear. I’m pretty sure the 47re tailhousing uses a magnetic coil and a raised lip on the output shaft to measure the speed.

So far as I know, the 47VSS works exactly the same as the 46.... Now, if your drivetrain is 98 or newer, then its the speed sensor on rear diff that's used for speedometer.
