Hey everyone...I just got a brand new used 1994 Ram 2500 that I'm thinking of 'doing up'...my brother-in-law passed away (it was his) and he left it to my son. I would like to make it a 'nice' truck for my boy...lots of little things need doing, but it has great bones.
I was asked by a coworker if I was going to sell it (I didn't plan on doing so) but I was wondering what their actual 'real' value is. At what point putting money into it will be a negative investment?
It runs great...good solid frame...it'll need a new interior for sure and then a lot of small things need to be addressed (paint, interior carpet, dash, etc.)
Looks to be in pretty good shape on the outside anyway, what engine/trans? How many miles? What options? Value also depends a fair bit on where you are.
It actually only has 134,000 miles on it. It has the 5.2L/318 engine with a standard transmission. Pretty much everything is manual in it, so I'm actually happy about that...less things to go wrong with. This will be my son's first vehicle, but I have a sneaky suspicion that I'll be stealing it from him a lot. My wife is already cringing with the amount of items I told her I want to change out.
I agree with Moparite...they really are good looking trucks.
