Buried my truck in a Cat track fireguard with 2000lb of water and pump onboard, while working a fire here in B.C. Stripped the T-Case planetary working it back out sounds like.
The '96 V-10 I took parts from was technically OBDII, but v.1 or something, same 'analog' dash as my '95 almost identical sensor/computer setup. '98 and up are far more complex and I suppose capable.
I wonder if you toasted the single row input bearing. They then throw rollers into planetary to be ground up like grain mill.

Later years went double row which seems like a great idea.

Maybe. Didn't happen during the worst of the pull, but on a small hill climbing out of the cut. Loud buzzing, grinding noise. Have two wheel drive, so direct is solid, won't move in 4x4. I'm remote so buying solid, used T-case, rebuild the original if it makes sense later. Has a good magnet right under the oil pickup, glued another rare earth magnet to the case below the chain. Limited use while sorting it out.

Finding a solid, used NP241D is extremely difficult. I wrote my thoughts on inspecting a prospective used unit here:

Posts #17 and #23 of that thread also show a bit of what happens if the single row bearing spits rollers into the planetary

1995 V-10 5209 8675 241DLD mine has the wide 15/16" input bearing, not narrow 5/8", dual row, no idea. Narrow gear cut for the planetary teeth. Trying to sort out drop in interchange and wind up with enough parts to swap between them to build a good one when I get home.
