Could I keep the 1997 318 and just switch the pcm so it's obd1 and possibly wiring harness so I have the 3 pin connector for the 47rh

If you are going to go to all the trouble of converting to OBDI, why not use the 360??? That is what the PCM is expecting in any event.....

Do you have inspections where you live though? As converting back to OBDI will most certainly fail on a 1997...... If you don't have inspections, then it isn't a concern.

I'm in northem Michigan so no vehicle inspecting l. The 360 is having oil pressure issues and I think the previous owner overfilled the oil by about 3times the amount as a bandaid or by accident. The 318 I have has always been very reliable

Rebuild your original trans then. Probably end up being cheaper and easier.

would I be able to use some of the old parts from the rh like the valve body And stuff, I have a friend with a Cummins that has a little experience in taking two 2nd gen dodges trannys and making things work who might be able to help me rebuild it . BTW I got two 46 re the original that one day only went in reverse and the other a free used one that just quit working a week later ( possibly torque converter) with all this tranny parts I might be able to get something going. I just got laid off on my comstruction job so I really need this to come together to get to my new job so I got limited amount of founds Mayne 3 to 400

Too many differences between RE and RH for valve bodies to interchange. rotating parts will though.
