Default 1994 Fuel Tank Configuration - Pump or no Pump?

Hi Guys,
New to this forum and am working on a 1994 DIESEL 2nd gen project. Here is the issue:
The fuel tank was removed from the truck when I acquired it and I am now putting it back together (see picture). I've been told that I am missing a fuel sending unit AND a fuel pump? So, can someone tell me what the truth is?

IS THERE A FUEL PUMP AND SENDING UNIT IN THE TANK OR JUST A SENDINIG UNIT?

Bonus: Would be GREAT if you can post a picture of exactly what I need!!

Fuel pump & housing assembly includes sending unit. Go up Rockauto.com. They have pics. What engine?

There is an orientation witch way it goes in. Since you don't know that experiment and make sure the sender arm bottoms out and has free movement. otherwise you will get a incorrect fuel reading.

No fuel pump in the tank on a 12 valve diesel. Mechanical lift pump is on the left side of the engine, under the fuel filter.

Since the fuel tank from my '95 diesel truck is so conviently removed and on my garage floor, I took couple of pictures.

No lift pump here:

This holds the unit in place, and also needed is the wide rubber seal around the sending unit:
