4x4 2 wheel abs only have the sensor on the rear diff. Just mind boggling to me hasn't gone off with no obvious leaks or electrical failures. I slid lights came on.

Brake lights work as they should everything works as it should minus non existent e brake which has been like that since I bought the truck.

Pull the ebrake release, and lift up on the pedal..... worth a shot.....

First thing I tried only thing different from stock was at one point trailer brakes were wires in

Depending on what options the truck has, the trailer brake connector itself might have been stock......

If it was factory I'd be shocked can see where the wore was spliced for brake lights and holes that were drilled into the dash with self tappers

Holes were likely to mount the controller, trucks didn't get those from the factory, only the harness side connector.

If there is some buggered wiring there, address that first, just to eliminate it as a possible suspect.

If you have hacked wires check that first. There is a way to get codes but you need to know the procedure. You need to ground one of the pins on the obd port, Turn the ignition on and count the flashing abs light. This will be the codes. It's here in second gen section somewhere.
