Default tranmission shifting issue

i want to say the first time the issue im about to outline happened when a dude at a grocery store complimented me on my truck as i was leaving and i told him id get on it a little for him, i mashed the gas maybe....25-30 mph. nothing crazy but when i pulled out from the red light after it wouldnt shift from first gear, i pulled over and went from n to p, up and down all the different gears no change. soooo i just tried to limp it home, when i pulled out again it still didnt want to shift but after about 2 mins it eventually shifted to second and onward. made it home fine and no issue since. FAST FORWARD!!! last week i mashed the gas for the first time since and now my transmission barely wants to shift anymore. i have to be just barely on the gas for it to shift and it seems if i accelerate medium to hard it wont shift. i dont want to just start throwing parts at it so i was hoping the details ive given someone could guide me in what they think. thanks!!

Yes but unrelated to transmission codes. Down stream o2 sensor (no cat) and evap leak that I've had since buying the truck.

When is the last time your tranny fluid was changed or checked? I would first check the trans fluid, and if it is fine, then I would change the fluid and filter. Mine which is a 99' has been having a trans issue, but since i have been working pretty much every day can't really work on it. It just likes to downshift at weird times.could just be dirty fluid or a filter. But yeah, i would check your fluid/filter first before you delve into more complex stuff lol
