I personally like a reg cab. Plus they are better in the mud IMO because of the shorter distances between the axles.

im not going to bash you or anything but do you know that from experience? I like having a bigger truck in the mud. for instince if you get into a deep mud hole with a short wheel base truck. you might be all the way in. with a longer truck your front end might be in the mud and the rear is still on land pushing it through. and then when the fronts on land the rears in the mud. my friend has a jeep with a locked rear end and he gets stuck a hell of a lot more then i do and im open.

I would have to agree with 01RamClassic on the wheelbase issue. I use to wheel with my 79 Ramcharger. In the three years that I did, I only got stuck once. I burried it up to the axles trying to go up an insanely steep grade (it was the only way out). I went back the next morning and got it out after the mud had stiffened (it was at the end of October). That was the ONLY time. That Ramcharger would go through anything (Mud, snow, brush), and I was only running 32" Firestone ATXs with sure-grip differentials. And as we all know (well I think we all do), a Ramcharger is just a short-bed reg. cab pickup that's been welded together/modified into an SUV. [8D]

Before that, my dad had a 46 ****** (think M*A*S*H) that we used to wheel with (before I could drive). We NEVER got stuck with that...not once. And we could go places that you could never go with a pickup. The only time we were unable to continue moving was when we fell through a bridge with it. God I miss that Jeep.

I don't mean to bash on here, I was just stating my opinion. And yes it has been from experience. Mudding used to be one of the most favorite pastimes of me and my friends. Quads are great in the mud, don't get me wrong here. But if it was up to me I would choose a reg cab over a quad if I was going to go mudding. Reg cabs have a smaller turning radius, and they weigh less. I didn't mean to offend anyone, I was just stating my own personal opinion.

Quad or regualr cab, it just comes down to people's personal preference. I personally like the quad cab b/c I can use the truck to haul stuff around in as well as use it to drive people when I have someplace to go. But that is just me, and everyone has their own opinion. What I am really interested in is how this truck looks and drives when you go and see it. I hope it is a nice one for you. After all, that is what this thread was originally all about.
