Convert 1500 to 2500
Has anyone swapped the coil springs/wheel hubs (and whatever else needed - I'm a shade tree mechanic) from a 95 2500 (V10 with automatic 4x4) into a 99 1500 (5.9 with 5-speed 4x4) front end? I have a junk 95 2500 and a real nice 99 1500. Looking for advice on this swap and also the rear/leaf springs changeover. My 2500 has fairly new 8-leaf springs, 16K hitch, and step bumper. The 2500 carried my slide-in camper but the 1500 won't do it to suit me.
Thanks in advance, I'm new to the site and all the good info!

Doesn't matter what you do to the truck, it doesn't change its "Legal" tow/weight limits. Regardless of what suspension you toss under there, if it would be overloaded for a 1500, and you have an accident, your insurance company can deny your claim. Something to keep in mind.
That said.... 2 or 4 wheel drive?
