Default 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with FOUR Wheel ABS

Just bought this with "pulls to right" issues. On the test drive I turned around at the end of the block because I could tell this thing wasn't going to be safe even above 5MPH. Got it for a good price though, at least for this area. I did caliper/rotor/pads on RF - no problems found. I just came over the the "good side" and I discovered at least part of the problem. I can't find wheel hubs with the abs sensor ring from any of the parts stores for this year truck. They all show non-ABS. Chatted with Moog and they say they don't carry it. I'm planning on buying a 2000 4WD ABS hub (Moog 515039) - has anyone else ran into this issue, and/or been able to substitute wheel hubs between years? PFA

I checked Rock Auto and didn't see them there either. Might want to download the Dodge factory parts manual for your year truck via this link - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html

Check the factory parts manual for the part number of the hub/bearing you need, then try Google searching for it to see if you can find it somewhere NOS.

Later model years may fit, but I'd suspect that Dodge changed the connector on the end of the wire at the very least (those Chrysler engineers are famous for doing things like that). Others may have other ideas regarding later model fit..

DOES THE CONNECTOR ACTUALLY PLUG IN TO SOMETHING?

WHAT is going on in the 2nd pic? Is that wear from a severely trashed hub allowing the rotor to rub the knuckle?

I'm wondering if someone installed later hubs (or just rotors) on a '95. Something changed in the offset of the rotors IIRC in '00 when they also went dual piston calipers.

Basically I'm wondering if you have a mish-mash of pre and post '00 parts on there.....????

You need new bearings! 4 wheel ABS didn't start till 97 and then it was an option not standard.

@Keith_L Yeah the hub is trashed - two studs weren't seated as well (loose) and the rotor was getting into the caliper bracket.

@Moparite Yes, new bearings. Incorrect on 97 - you could order Four Wheel ABS in 1995 with option code BGK (RWAL was BGJ I believe). It's all stock, guys. Looking for someone who's tried hubs with the newer part #s on 94-96 with AWAL/FWAL.

Isn't the sensor separate from the hub/bearing unit on the older trucks???

I don't think so - you can see the abs ring on the back side of the hub on the 3rd photo? I won't have time tomorrow to fiddle with it, but will get the bad hub off MON and snap pics...

I believe I figured out the issue - the ABS tone ring on your truck should be on the stub shaft of the axle (which passes through the splined wheel/hub bearing and is secured by the large nut and cotter pin) and the ABS sensors are likely bolted to the back of each knuckle. You can see an example of the replacement parts for this setup for '94-'97 trucks here - https://www.1aauto.com/1994-97-dodge...2/2387444/1995

As such, there should be no ABS tone ring on the hub/wheel bearing until the later years in the 2nd gen trucks.

If this is the case, you just need to know if there are 3 or 4 bolts holding the hub/wheel bearing to the knuckle to order the correct parts.

Once you pull apart the hub/wheel bearing assembly, please post some photos of what you find..

3 bolt bearings are for the 1500's and the 4's are for the 2500's, I believe the 7500 versions still used the 4. The tone rings are on the outer axle shafts.
