Anyone else have issues with new sensors since covid? I just did my annual TPS and IAC change on my v10. I started up my truck at 4:50 am to go hunting and by the time I met my friend at the gas station it was struggling to idle. Then by noon it got to the point it wouldn't idle anymore, just like last year. Literally almost a year to the day and only 800 miles. New crank sensor that lasted 500miles before an intermittent no start issue, luckily it would start after waiting for a minute. New crank sensor, again. My wrecked 98 Durango fires up with 9yr old fuel and runs fine with just a jump pack on it whenever I need to move it. It's getting really frustrating. I may just have to raid the junk yard for oe ones and keep a stockpile. This is getting ridiculous. Btw this has been a mix of senors, NAPA and ones from Rockauto.

 

Everyone here says goes with OEM Mopar sensors. Aftermarket always has issues.

 

Some of the OEM parts for the 8.0 are getting REALLY hard to find though......

I went through this with my 8.0 early this year. Exact same issue, IAC/TPS sensor replacement and the truck still started running very rough. It finally set a code and turned out to be the o2 sensors. I replaced both with Denso's and it was like driving a new truck. Just a thought.

I went through a bunch of aftermarket IAT and TPS before buying OEM and solving the problem (boom… done).

 

My O2 sensors only have 1000miles on them and my wideband shows its running good on the air fuel. With the cam I have as soon as the tps fails it starts to backfire into the intake when taking off from a stop and has a really hard time idling when coming to stop as well. Eventually it got to the point where it needed throttle to start. If I would very slowly back off once in closed loop it would sit and "search" until it idled OK. Just a pain that this happens every 1000 miles or so. Good thing its not my daily or it would get expensive fast.
