97 1500 3.9 fuel line leak. Ok to leave vent roll over valve dc/d
So I had a fuel line leak next to the tank so had to drop the tank to check it out. When I dropped it the line coming from the vent rollover valve was soo rusted it pretty much fell apart. It looks like the line goes from the valve to the vapor canister (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). I was debating on not replacing that line but not sure if it will throw a check engine light. Is it ok to leave it disconnected or am I asking for trouble?
I'd either replace it or cut out the rusted section of metal line and graft it back together with rubber hose and/or a section of steel line + some rubber line to connect them. I went through this issue when I dropped my fuel tank to repair a rusty/broken frame strap that holds the rear of the gas tank up.

Yea, I thought about using rubber hose to connect the broken section(s). Figured it would be ok seeing as it's not under crazy pressure. Is it really a big deal if I left It as is or am I going to have issues if it's not connected to the carbon/vapor canister?
There is a purge vale under the hood that may trip a code at the PCM. Since you have it apart, why chance it, especially since once that fuel tank is re-installed, it's a nightmare to get back to without dropping the tank...
You guys are right. Might as well do it as long as I have access. I was being lazy and not really trying to do too much extra b/c I'm going to sell it. Thanks again gents.
