Default Blend door actuator

So on this 2001 dodge ram 2500 the heater blend door coupling was cracked letting the actuator spin all the way around, I replaced the coupling. But now the control switches from cold to hot. But off mid point it doesn't matter one click or 5 or all the way. It's either all hot or all cold there is no in between. The actuator turns until blend door open or closed all the way? What do I need to do to get the in-between?

Thank you for that read. That explains everything I've been questioning about the blend door position. Ok I will align gears tomorrow. Thank you
