46RE Band adjustment.
I bought this truck (1999 1500, 5.9 4wd) in 2021 for a decent price because it wouldn't shift into 2nd gear. Took it to the trans shop and they said the band for 2nd was bad. They wanted to drop the tranny and do a full rebuild.
I couldn't afford that then . Or now. They suggested to use a slip in band and that it was cheaper and would fix the issue.
It definitely fixed the issue, and was cheaper than a rebuild ($600) so I was "happy".
Last week it started to slip going into second, kinda like it is hitting neutral then 2nd.
With one of these slip in bands, are they also adjustable as they wear like an original? I don't want to do an "adjustment" and screw something up.
Thanks for any help.

Yes, thank you. My question is. The trans shop put a slip band in there two years ago. Is the slip band also adjustable like an OEM band is as it wears out?
Yes. It adjusts the same way.
