Default Vacuum Leak

I have a question (may be a dumb one). It appears I have a vacuum leak coming from the front of my throttle body. I did a smoke test to try and find the cause of my RPM fluctuations. I noticed smoke coming out from the front of the throttle body. My question is, to get a better seal is it smart to use a tiny amount of rtv silicone as well as a new TB gasket?

I didn't. I just put a new gasket in, and called it a day.

We had some work done to the intake manifold and I'm wondering if the mating surface between the throttle body and intake isn't flush. That why I'm wondering about using the rtv

There are some small passages on the throttle body that really wouldn't like it, if they were clogged with RTV. If you must use something, use the spray-on sticky-tack stuff.
