Default Final report on HVAC rebuild on 96 Ram 1500.

Had ta pull the dash assembly back out AFTER the job was finished. Fairly easy actually, took about 45 minutes. Things plastic began to fail / bushings, clips...things that have had decades in a well used pickup to go brittle. Luckily, I didn't have to discharge the A/c or disconnect the heater core AND I was able to repair/modify the plastic parts, by adapting the metal hinges, actuator arms, not to mention vent joints. That said....all's back together for awhile now n working great. It's sure nice to have a nice blast (instead of a wheeze) of air from the vents ANMD both A/C is, once again, blowin' reeeeeely cold~~~ 45 degrees on a 75 degree day.

When the truck's A/C is properly charged and the blend doors are working properly, it's A/C can allow you to hang meat in the cab. It'll freeze you and the meat!

I charged the A/C by weight (foinly) and replaced the orifice tube and filter dryer. I'd forgotten how well the system worked!
