The center console in my 1997 Ram sometimes gets stuck in the up position. When I put it up to accomodate a third person in the front seat, it is like it locks, or jams, and I cant get it back down until I work with it a little bit. The question is, what do I need to do when this happens? Is it caused by someone leaning against it too hard, is is there some kind of lock on them. I have looked it over, and I havent seen anything like a lock on it. Thanks guys and gals. This has been a great site for me, and I always come here first when I have a question.

 

if tis like my trucks at all there shouldnt be a lock. it try to take it apart and see if there is something lodged up in the hing that makes it stick...

 

mine does it. i think it locks so if you have no one sitting there and its up i doesnt come flying down. all i have to do is stick my hand in under it and lift up a little. try that.
