Default How to Self Wire the Speedo

I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 that has been 5 speed swapped and 70's 360 swapped. So the engine wiring is gone besides accesorys. I have to wire all new gauges in myself. Now all the interior wiring, 4wd etc wiring is still there. What controls the spedo and how can i wire up the factory speedo to work? Truck is very close to finished just need to get the gauges wired but im stuck on the spedo.

On the 95, speedo is driving by a tone generator, that would be in the same position the drive for a cable-type speedometer would be. So far as I know, its just three wires, 5 volt feed, signal return, and a ground. It might even be just two wires..... (no ground wire) You *should* be able to just splice the signal return wire into the correct wire in the dash, and the speedo should work. The tone generator is actually driven by the speedo gears in the trans.... so, you can adjust your speedo just by swapping gears around.
