Default Front speakers not working

1999 2500 QC 4x4 CTD with stock set up. Both front speakers aren’t working. The radio had issues from a front end accident, display went out but radio and speakers still worked. I replaced the radio a few days ago with a good one from a salvage yard but that didn’t solve the problem. At least I have a display again!

Found a YouTube video discussing that if one goes out it can make the adjacent one go out, so commenced removing the driver side door panel to test the ohms on the speaker. Registered 4 ohms so apparently good. Was going to test the right one today, but I have stumbled across posts where people said one speaker died, so that blew up the idea that one bad one could make both not work.

So, what’s the next best explanation and fix? Dreading having to tear the dash apart chasing wires 😬

Do you have the infinity sound system originally?

Apparently I do have the infinity system if the presence of tweeters indicates that. The tweeters are also not producing sound.

The old head unit should say "Infinity" on it.... I think....

Also, if your front speakers have amplifiers mounted to them, that's a sure sign.

Head unit not labeled Infinity but the front speakers do have amps. Still not finding answers as to why just the fronts and tweeters aren’t working.

Are the amps getting power?

How do I test the amps for power? Talk to me like I’m technically clueless, because I just about am 🤣 I have a volt meter.

Also, do the non-Infinity systems have front speakers with amps? Mine for sure do.

When I test resistance on the speaker +/- I don’t hear anything. So far I’ve only pulled the driver side panel off. Also, why would the tweeters not work as well? Can one of these amped speakers being bad take out the entire front?

Amp is powered via fuse 4, 10 amp. In the fuse block on the side of the dash. From there, it goes thru the Radio Choke relay. That relay is controlled by the head unit. I suspect, if you hook that to the 'power antenna' output on the head unit, the speakers will start working. Power eventually makes it to the amp on the speaker in pin 7 of the connector there. Black wire with red trace.

Choke relay wire is Light Green. Goes to pin 1 on one of the radio connectors. (C2)

I’m sorry, I’m not following that last sentence, hook what to the power antenna output? And where is the power antenna output?

Sorry to be dense - I appreciate the help!
