Default Transmission linkages and plugs not the same.

I got a 2001 ram 1500 5.9 that I'm putting a transmission in and the one I got from the junk yard they say came out of a 2000 ram 1500, but the shift linkage on the junk yard one looks to be set up for a cable and the one on the truck is all metal arms. And where the neutral safety switche is on the old one there's some big sensor with a different plug. My question is did they give me the wrong transmission or is there just something I'm supposed to do to make it work. When I searched up the serial number on the junkyard transmission The only thing that comes up is a 2004 Russian Dodge Durango. What should I do? Thanks for any help.

I am thinkin' they gave you the wrong trans. The 'large sensor' where the neutral safety switch is supposed to be, is a dead giveaway.
